Professor Recognized as Student Favorite

Richard GeorgePHILADELPHIA (October 2, 2007) - BusinessWeek recently asked business undergraduate students to tell them about their favorite professors. Saint Joseph’s University students voted Richard George, Ph.D., professor of food marketing, as their favorite. The only professor from Pennsylvania selected, George joins an impressive roster of 20 others featured in BusinessWeek’s special report – “Class Acts.”

A professor at Saint Joseph’s for more than 30 years, George is valued by his many students for his accessibility and for providing them with “real-world” experience through his courses.

“He teaches more than book knowledge; he takes you into the real world of food marketing,” wrote one student. “It’s a privilege to have him as a teacher. I have never learned so much from one person as I have from Dr. George. I wish everyone could have a teacher as well-rounded as him.”

“Dr. George provides an interactive and thought-provoking classroom experience. He relates his personal industry knowledge and work experience to the class work,” wrote another student.”

George is both humbled and honored to be recognized by his students and profiled by BusinessWeek. “Working in the Saint Joseph's University vineyard with its dedicated faculty and staff, serving present and future leaders, has provided me with many blessings and a lifetime of memories,” he said.
